Using proper alignment tools, like keyways on punches and spots on dies, will help to ensure the longevity of punches and dies.

Cleveland Steel Tool recommends the use of Keyways and Spots for positive alignment of shaped punches and dies. Different ironworker machines use different size and style keyways and spots. Some common styles, shapes and sizes are stocked with keyways and whistle spots. Your specific keyway and spot can be added to any punch and die upon request.
